Kuvaus
The No-Gi Finnish Open 2024 August 24th to 25th at Energia Areena, Vantaa, Finland.
Note that because of ongoing military activities in Ukraine the academies from Russia and Belarus and athletes with permanent residence in Russia or Belarus will no longer participate in the BJJ Finnish Open 2024, No-Gi Finnish Open 2024 and Senior BJJ & No-Gi Finnish Open 2024 competitions.
FBJJF’s Finnish Open 2024 competitions are welcoming all academies registered and athletes having permanent residency in other countries.
The champions of the color belt weight classes and all open weight classes get to represent the Finnish BJJ Federation in an international competition organized outside the country of residence. Read more about the compensations from Competition Invitation.

FBJJF’s Finnish Open 2024 competitions are welcoming all academies registered and athletes having permanent residency in other countries.
Participating Finnish academies must be members of the FBJJF and have their 2024 membership active.
All the competitors representing Finnish academies must have competitor license for the year 2024.

All elite (men: black & brown belts / women: purple, brown, and black belts) category athletes and athletes who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in other belt categories are eligible to register for the absolute category (including the competitors not having opponents in her/his weight category).
Missing the fight (with WO decision) or being DQ at weight-in (& uniform check), in addition being DQ because of unsportsmanship, prevents registering to the absolute category.
Absolute category registration opens at the competition arena, and only weight category registration is available prior to the competition.
Note: An athlete proven to be a black belt in judo, have competition experience in freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling at the nationals level (* In the USA, to have competed at a college level or higher) or to have fought MMA as a professional or amateur at the level of national championship or any international championship, shall not be allowed to enter any FBJJF tournament as a white belt.
Adults with white belts and juveniles with junior belts are allowed to register to the blue belt category. In case the earlier mentioned competitor registers to the blue belt category that competitor is no longer allowed to compete in the white belt category in any of the FBJJF organized competition later on. The earlier mentioned competitor must wear outfit/uniform (including the belt) required in the belt category they compete in. It should be noted that competing in the upper belt category is not a belt upgrade and has no further reflection to outside of the FBJJF competitions.
Competitors under the age of 18 must fill the "Under 18y participation in FBJJF competition" form.
The form must be signed by both the guardian and the coach. It can be sent by e-mail (kilpailut@bjjliitto.fi) to the association no earlier than 1 month and no later than 48 hours before the day of the competition, or alternatively, take a paper version with you to the competition venue, where it will be presented to the officials at the entrance and at the weigh-in during the identity check. The absence of the form will prevent competing in the competition!

PRIZES
The champions of the color belt weight classes and all open weight classes get to represent the Finnish BJJ Federation in an international competition organized outside the country of residence.
The valid competitions for representation are: IBJJF European Nogi Opens and Jiu-Jitsu Nogi Con 2024-2025 / AJP International/National Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship (Nogi) 2024-2025 / ADCC Open & Championship competitions 2024-2025.
FBJJF reimburses the selected (single) competition traveling costs (flights, registration fees, accommodation) verified with receipts for the blue (male & female) and purple (male) belt weight class winners up to 300 euros and elite (male brown-black belts & female purple-brown-black belts) up to 600 euros. For white, blue, purple (male) belt open weight class winners up to 500 euros and elite (male & female) open weight class winners up to 1200 euros.
Reimbursement application must be created after the competition and no later than one (1) month after the competition day. The reimbursement application can be found in the competitor’s system account. The receipts must be uploaded with the application.
The reimbursement application for this championship expires on the 1st of September 2025 (1.9.2025).
The best academy of the tournament is awarded to the single academy that gathers the most points from the tournament all categories included (a team consisting of several academies cannot compete for the prize in question).
The points are awarded as follows: Gold 9 points, silver 3 points and bronze 1 point.
WEIGHT-IN
The weigh-in will be with the rash guard and shorts right before the first fight. In the weight-in the competitor must prove his/her identity with the ID-card (with photo) or other official identification certification (e.g. Passport, driver’s license, etc.).
If the fighter does not make the weight or the fight-outfit doesn’t meet the set requirements the fighter will be set for a disqualification. The fighter has the right for a second inspection within the competition time limits. The competition staff will monitor the condition of the outfits throughout the competition. Any tears, rips, or stains (e.g. blood) will prevent the usage of the outfit and the competitor must replace it. The new outfit must be re-inspected.
The fighter must wear a rash guard and board shorts colored black, white, black and white, and/or the color of the rank (belt) to which the athlete belongs, without pockets or with the pockets stitched completely shut, without buttons, exposed drawstrings, zippers or any form of plastic or metal that could present a risk to the opponent, long enough to cover at least halfway down the thigh, and no longer than the knee.
Shirts must be elastic (should hug the body) and long enough to cover the waistline of the shorts. Shirts must be black, white or black with white and contain at least 10% of the athlete’s rank color according to the corresponding belt division. Shirts that are 100% of the athlete’s rank color are also acceptable. For black belts a small red area will be tolerated as a part of the rash guard but must not de-characterize the athlete’s rank color. The shirt can’t have any grey or other extra colors unless they are in the manufacturer’s, other commercial or team logo.
The shorts must be loose board shorts, spandex shorts are not allowed. The shorts may carry the logos of the manufacturer and/or team anywhere. For men also permitted are compression tights/spats/shorts made of elastic material (skintight) worn beneath the shorts, in the colors black, white, black, and white, and/or the color of the rank (belt category) to which the athlete belongs to.
In the female categories, competitors may wear tights/spats. The color of the tights can be either black, white, black, and white, and/or the color of the rank (belt category) to which the athlete belongs to.
In the female divisions, the athletes will be permitted to cover their heads. The details of the acceptable head cover are found from the IBJJF official rules.

Note! Female Purple/Brown/Black belt categories will be fought under brown belt rules.
By enrolling in this competition the athlete agrees to follow the antidoping guidelines set by the Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS) and the rules of the Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (FBJJF).

PARTICIPATION FEE AND ENROLLMENT
Participation fees depend on the date of enrollment.

Fees must be paid upon enrollment. The competitor may change the belt and weight category or cancel the registration until the last day of enrollment (Finnish time zone UTC+03:00). The competitor will perform the wanted changes in the competition system.
The last enrollment day is August 18th, 2024.
REFUND
The participation fee will be refunded only for a medical certification covering the dates of the event and if the enrollment has been cancelled in the system (not via email) by the competitor before the last day of the enrollment (18.8.2024). The medical certification must be sent to kilpailut@bjjliitto.fi before the competition day.
INSURANCE
The competition organizer does NOT insure the fighters.
SPECTATORS
Adult 1-day ticket online 10€ and under 10y 5€.
Adult 1-day ticket onsite 13€ and under 10y 7€.
Registered competitors are allowed freely to the event site on both competition day.
Free coach entry with Finnish academy passes.
Free coach pass to one coach per day for (competing) non-Finnish academy. Please consult organization staff at the entry to receive your coach pass.
EVENT MODIFICATIONS AND/OR CANCELLATION
The event organizer reserves the right to change the time, place etc. and/or cancel the event in a short notice in case of so called force major -situations. Only the competition registration fee shall be refunded in such case. The event organizer is not responsible for any other compensations.
