Kuvaus
Seniors No-Gi Finnish Open competition 2024 takes place at Lempäälä Ideaparkki (Bläk Boks) on 26th of October 2024.
Seniors Finnish Open is open for competitors who was born 1988 or earlier (Masters 2+).
Because of ongoing military activities in Ukraine the academies from Russia and Belarus and athletes with permanent residence in Russia or Belarus will no longer participate in the BJJ Finnish Open 2024, NoGi Finnish Open 2024, Seniors BJJ Finnish Open 2024, Seniors NoGi Finnish Open 2024 competitions.
FBJJF’s Finnish Open 2024 competitions are welcoming all academies registered and athletes having permanent residency in other countries.

FBJJF’s Finnish Open 2024 competitions are welcoming all academies registered and athletes having permanent residency in other countries.
Participating Finnish academies must be members of the FBJJF and have their 2024 membership active.
All the competitors representing Finnish academies must have competitor license for the year 2024.
WEIGHT CATEGORIES:
Male white belts 35+ years:
-67.5, -73.5, -79.5, -85.5, -91.5, -97.5, 97.5+ and absolute (incl. +45y)
Male blue belts 35+ years:
-67.5, -73.5, -79.5, -85.5, -91.5, -97.5, 97.5+ and absolute (incl. +45y)
Male elite (purple, brown and black belt) 35+ years:
-67.5, -73.5, -79.5, -85.5, -91.5, -97.5, 97.5+ and absolute (incl. +45y)
Male 45+ years (white and blue belt):
-79.5, 79.5+ kg
Male 45+ years (purple, brown and black belt):
-79.5, 79.5+ kg
Female 35+ years (white and blue belt):
-61.5, -66.5, 66.5+
Female 35+ years (purple, brown and black belt):
-61.5, -66.5, 66.5+ and absolute (incl. white & blue belts)
All athletes who compete in their weight categories are eligible to register for the absolute category. Absolute category registration opens at the competition arena, and only weight category registration is available prior to the competition.
Competition has a “3-competitors” policy in use. In case the weight category has only two (2) or less competitors, the category will be cancelled (excluding “+” weight category). In case the competitor is in the cancelled category he/she must contact the competition organizer (by sending email to kilpailut@bjjliitto.fi) and inform to which eligible weight category the competitor will transfer to (a male blue belt competitor may transfer also to the male elite category). The competitor must ensure he/she has received the confirmation message about the transfer from the organizer. In any other case, the competitor’s competition registration is automatically cancelled.
Competitors in the category 35+ seniors are born 1988 or earlier. The requirement is that the competitor will turn or has already turn 36 years in 2024. Competitors in the category 45+ are born 1978 or earlier.
Competing in the Seniors competition shall not prevent competitors in competing any other adult categories in FBJJF competitions.
Competitor may only participate ONE age category in this event. In case there is no absolute category in the competitor’s age category but the competitor is willing to fight in one he/she must contact the staff at the weight-in station.
Note: An athlete proven to be a black belt in judo, have competition experience in freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling at the nationals level (* In the USA, to have competed at a college level or higher) or to have fought MMA as a professional or amateur at the level of national championship or any international championship, shall not be allowed to enter any FBJJF tournament as a white belt.
WEIGHT-IN AND FIGHTING UNIFORM
The weigh-in will be with the rash guard and shorts right before the first fight. In the weight-in the competitor must prove his/her identity with the ID-card (with photo) or other official identification certification (e.g. Passport, driver’s license, etc.).
If the fighter does not make the weight or the fight-outfit doesn’t meet the set requirements the fighter will be set for a disqualification. The fighter has the right for a second inspection within the competition time limits. The competition staff will monitor the condition of the outfits throughout the competition. Any tears, rips, or stains (e.g. blood) will prevent the usage of the outfit and the competitor must replace it. The new outfit must be re-inspected.
The fighter must wear a rash guard and board shorts colored black, white, black and white, and/or the color of the rank (belt) to which the athlete belongs, without pockets or with the pockets stitched completely shut, without buttons, exposed drawstrings, zippers or any form of plastic or metal that could present a risk to the opponent, long enough to cover at least halfway down the thigh, and no longer than the knee.
Shirts must be elastic (should hug the body) and long enough to cover the waistline of the shorts. Shirts must be black, white or black with white and contain at least 10% of the athlete’s rank color according to the corresponding belt division. Shirts that are 100% of the athlete’s rank color are also acceptable. For black belts a small red area will be tolerated as a part of the rash guard but must not de-characterize the athlete’s rank color. The shirt can’t have any grey or other extra colors unless they are in the manufacturer’s, other commercial or team logo.
The shorts must be loose board shorts, spandex shorts are not allowed. The shorts may carry the logos of the manufacturer and/or team anywhere. For men also permitted are compression tights/spats/shorts made of elastic material (skintight) worn beneath the shorts, in the colors black, white, black, and white, and/or the color of the rank (belt category) to which the athlete belongs to.
In the female categories, competitors may wear tights/spats. The color of the tights can be either black, white, black, and white, and/or the color of the rank (belt category) to which the athlete belongs to.
In the female divisions, the athletes will be permitted to cover their heads. The details of the acceptable head cover are found from the IBJJF official rules.
Rules defined for no-gi uniforms in the latest IBJJF Rulebook are followed.

All Seniors Finnish Open fights have a fight time of 5 minutes.
All color belt (and all belts) categories will follow the blue belt ruleset.
By enrolling in this competition the athlete agrees to follow the antidoping guidelines set by the Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS) and the rules of the Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (FBJJF).
PARTICIPATION FEE AND ENROLLMENT
Participation fees depend on the date of enrollment.

Fees must be paid upon enrollment. The competitor may change the belt and weight category or cancel the registration until the last day of enrollment (Finnish time zone UTC+03:00). The competitor will perform the wanted changes in the competition system.
The last enrollment day is October 20th, 2024.
REFUND
The participation fee will be refunded only for a medical certification covering the dates of the event and if the enrollment has been cancelled in the system (not via email) by the competitor before the last day of the enrollment (20.10.2024). The medical certification must be sent to kilpailut@bjjliitto.fi before the competition day.
INSURANCE
The competition organizer does NOT insure the fighters.
SPECTATORS
Entry fee for Adults 10€, children under 12y 5€
Registered competitors are allowed free of charge to the event site on the competition day.
Free coach entry with Finnish academy passes.
Free coach pass to one coach per day for (competing) non-Finnish academy. Please consult organization staff at the entry to receive your coach pass.
EVENT MODIFICATIONS AND/OR CANCELLATION
The event organizer reserves the right to change and/or cancel the event in a short notice in any force major -situations. Only the competition registration fee shall be refunded in such case. The event organizer is not responsible for any other compensations.
