The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Finnish Open 2022 May 7th to 8th at the Tikkurila Trio Sport Center, Vantaa, Finland.

The competition registration opens the latest on April 2022.

Note that because of ongoing military activities in Ukraine the academies from Russia and Belarus and athletes with permanent residence in Russia or Belarus will no longer participate in the BJJ Finnish Open 2022, NoGi Finnish Open 2022 and Senior NoGi Finnish Open 2022 competitions. FBJJF’s Finnish Open 2022 competitions are welcoming all academies registered and athletes having permanent residency in other countries.

The Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation sponsors the champions of the blue, purple and brown/black belt (female blue and purple/brown/black belt) weight categories with 300€ and the champions of all absolute categories with 500€ for the traveling costs to IBJJF International & European Open competitions 2022-2023 / AJP Tour & Abu Dhabi International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships 2022-2023.

White belts: -64, -70, -76, -82.3, -88.3, -94.3, -100.5, 100.5+ kg and absolute category
Blue belts: -64, -70, -76, -82.3, -88.3, -94.3, -100.5, 100.5+ kg and absolute category
Purple belts: -70, -76, -82.3, -88.3, -94.3, -100.5, 100.5+ kg and absolute category
Brown/Black belts: -70, -76, -82.3, -88.3, -94.3, 94.3+ kg and absolute category

Female

White belts: -58.5 kg, -64 kg, -69 kg, -74 kg, +74 kg and absolute category
Blue belts: -58.5 kg, -64 kg, -69 kg, -74 kg, +74 kg and absolute category
Purple/Brown/Black belts: -58.5 kg, -64 kg, -69 kg, -74 kg, +74 kg and absolute category

All athletes who compete in their weight categories are eligible to register for the absolute category (including the competitors not having opponents in her/his weight category).
Missing the fight (with WO decision) or being DQ at weight-in (& uniform check), in addition being DQ because of unsportsmanship, prevents registering to the absolute category.

Absolute category registration opens at the competition arena, and only weight category registration is available prior to the competition.

Note: An athlete proven to be a black belt in judo, have competition experience in freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling at the nationals level (* In the USA, to have competed at a college level or higher) or to have fought MMA as a professional or amateur at the level of national championship or any international championship, shall not be allowed to enter any FBJJF tournament as a white belt.

Adults with white belts and juveniles with junior belts are allowed to register to the blue belt category. In case the earlier mentioned competitor registers to the blue belt category that competitor is no longer allowed to compete in the white belt category in any of the FBJJF organized competition later on. The earlier mentioned competitor must wear outfit/uniform (including the belt) required in the belt category they compete in. It should be noted that competing in the upper belt category is not a belt upgrade and has no further reflection to outside of the FBJJF competitions.

PRIZES

The Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation sponsors the champions of the blue, purple and brown/black belt (female blue and purple/brown/black belt) weight categories with 300€ and the champions of all absolute categories with 500€ for the traveling costs to IBJJF International & European Open competitions 2022-2023 / AJP Tour & Abu Dhabi International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships 2022-2023.
This sponsorship expires on 1st of September 2023.

The FBJJF sponsorship is a reimbursement of traveling costs verified with receipts.
The FBJJF will reimburse traveling costs (flights, registration fees, accommodation) for the defined competitions. Reimbursement application must be created after the competition and no later than one (1) month after the competition day.

The absolute category sponsorship may be used together with the weight category sponsorship for the competition in question 2022-2023.

FBJJF sponsorship is for the individual athlete and may not be transferred or sold.

The best academy of the tournament is awarded to the single academy that gathers the most points from the tournament all categories included (a team consisting of several academies can not compete for the prize in question).
The points are awarded as follows: Gold 9 points, silver 3 points and bronze 1 point.

WEIGHT-IN & KIMONO
Weight-in will be with the kimono right before the first fight. If a fighter does not make the weight, he/she will be disqualified. The fighter must identify himself/herself with an official identification document (with picture).

Allowed kimono colors are white, blue and black. The jacket and the pants must be of the same color. Allowed patch locations can be found on the IBJJF website. The kimono must be clean and unbroke; including the belt. The kimono and the belt will be checked at the weight-in. If the kimono or the belt doesn’t meet the set requirements the fighter will be disqualified. The fighter has the right for a second inspection within the competition time limits.

Note! Female Purple/Brown/Black belt categories will be fought under brown belt rules.

By enrolling in this competition the athlete agrees to follow the antidoping guidelines set by the Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS) and the rules of the Finnish Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (FBJJF).

PARTICIPATION FEE AND ENROLLMENT
Participation fees depend on the date of enrollment.

55,00 € until April 17th
65,00 € until April 24th
75,00 € until May 1st

Fees must be paid upon enrollment. You may change your category or cancel your registration until the last day of enrollment (Finnish time zone UTC+03:00).

REFUND
The participation fee will be refunded only for a medical certification and if the enrollment has been cancelled in the system by the competitor before the last day of the enrollment. The last enrollment day is May 1st, 2022.

INSURANCE
The competition organizer does NOT insure the fighters.

For Finns: Kaikilla kilpailuihin osallistuvilla suomalaisilla tulee olla SBJJL:n kilpailijalisenssi vuodelle 2022.

SPECTATORS
Adult 1-day ticket online 10€ and under 10y 5€.
Adult 1-day ticket onsite 13€ and under 10y 7€.

Registered competitors are allowed freely to the event site on both competition day.
Free coach entry with Finnish academy passes.

Event is live streamed in BJJ Suomi YouTube-channel.

EVENT MODIFICATIONS AND/OR CANCELLATION
The event organizer reserves the right to change and/or cancel the event in a short notice in case the recent pandemic situation requires such actions. Only the competition registration fee shall be refunded in such case. The event organizer is not responsible for any other compensations.

White belt absolute categories.

Event opens at 10:00am and fight starts at 11:00am.

The competitor may estimate the fight times based on the fight number found from the brackets (est. 40-50 fights/hour).

The competitors are solely responsible of being on time at the venue and ready for his/her fights.
