Prestige points are calculated from personal medals of official IBJJF and FBJJF competitions. The only 100 point competitions are the IBJJF World Championships, other official IBJJF competitions are 70-80 points, FBJJF competitions are 50-60 points and Master competitions (previously Masters and Seniors) are worth 25-35 points. The multiplier for a Gold medal is 1, for a Silver medal 0.5 and for a Bronze medal 0.25. The multipliers and points may be changed in the future.
Prestige ranking does not take into account belt ranks or the number of competitors in a category and therefore does not directly correlate with the difficulty of the accomplishments.
Finland has one Black Belt World Champion: Venla Luukkonen won the IBJJF World Championship 2014. Finnish competitors have achieved three other medals in official IBJJF tournaments in the Black Belt Adult category - Bronze for Marko Helén at the BJJ European Open Championship 2010, Bronze for Toni Lindén at the BJJ European Open Championship 2014 and Silver for Tuomas Tammilehto at the No-Gi European Open Championship 2014. These can be generally regarded as the greatest Finnish accomplishments in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions. Also worth mentioning are the Brown Belt World Championship Gold medals by Janne-Pekka Pietiläinen in 2009 and Venla Luukkonen in 2013.
